PHILADELPHIA – June 29, 2012 (WPVI) — A Philadelphia grand jury has indicted

the owner of a daycare in connection with the drowning death of a 7-year-old boy.

Tianna Edwards, 31, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the

welfare of children, welfare fraud and related offenses.

It was June 29, 2012 when dive teams recovered the body of 7-year-old Isear Jeffcoat

from the bottom of a swimming pool in East Oak Lane.  Police say he and several

other children were dropped off at the pool in the 6600 block of North 8th Street

that afternoon, and that there was some kind of argument over a flotation device

before the boy was last seen.  Authorities said the boy’s body was found in what

was described as a “murky” pool.
