According to, Lifetime’s Exec. VP announced today that the network

has picked up The Houston Family Chronicles (working title), an all-new docu-series

that will follow the lives of the late Whitney Houston’s family, led by Pat Houston, Whit-

ney’s sister-in-law and manager, and including Pat’s daughter Rayah, Whitney’s brother

Gary, daughter Bobbi Kristina and mother, Cissy Houston.  The network ordered 10 hour

long episodes premiering later this year. Not sure how I feel about this, but here’s the

The Houston Family Chronicles follows those closest to the pop music icon as they try

to pick up the pieces after her untimely death. Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law,

manager and most trusted confidant, manages the business and estate of the beloved

singer and her most prized possession, her daughter Bobbi Kristina. The series will

follow Pat and her husband, Gary, Whitney Houston’s brother, as they take on their

greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone,

without the one person she relied on the most, her Mother. A mother to her own teen-

age daughter, Rayah, Pat understands the difficulty of raising a young woman in a world

where social media and peer pressure are the norm. As she tries to guide her own daugh-

ter into womanhood, Pat also has the responsibility of raising Bobbi Kristina, who, while

trying to move forward with life and make decisions about her future, must also learn to

cope with such a devastating loss. With the certainty of a microscopic lens focused on

this young woman and her every move, Pat, Gary and their tight-knit group of family

and friends are committed to seeing that Bobbi Kristina can grow and experience life un-

scathed. A true believer in the bond that women share called sisterhood, and a self pro-

claimed “woman’s woman,” Pat enlists the help of her and Whitney’s inner circle, includ-

ing Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick and Gospel legend CeCe Winans, to assist

her in such difficult times.  And Pat says she’s doing this to help other families heal them-

“I have been working with Simmons Shelley over the past few years developing a project

suitable for myself and our family. The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects

the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they

watch our family heal and move forward.”

Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, performed at an Easter celebration Sunday

at the Newark, NJ, church where the late singer’s funeral was held. According to WABC-TV

in New York, Houston directed the choir at the New Hope Baptist Church and sang “He

Would Not Come Down” solo, in tribute to her daughter.  She told the congregation, “I’m

not myself yet. But I know the Lord is working on me.”  Whitney, who died in February,

performed at the church as a child.

Bobbi Kristina and Nicholas Gordon’s love for one another became public after video

of them kissing and holding hands surfaced online yesterday evening.

Well, now Cissy Houston is calling it incest.

Cissy told a close friend, “What they’re doing is incestuous.” Cissy feels her granddaughter

has problems and Nick is taking advantage of her.  Although Whitney never formally

adopted Nick, she considered him her son and Bobbi called him her brother. For his part,

Nick called Bobbi his sister.  Cissy believes Bobbi has become impressionable and is trying

to get Whitney Houston’s estate to kick him out of the house where he and Bobbi K are liv-

ing together. Could she be concerned that Nicholas is out for some of Whitney’s money?

Before deleting his Twitter page, Nicholas tweeted, “if it was about money…. Do you know

how many interviews I was asked to give. I will remain loyal. And keep our memories to

There have also been rumors that the couple that once called themselves brother and sister

are also engaged.  This is getting crazy, as if it wasn’t already crazy enough

Ummm, let me see…

So everyone knows that the family didn’t want Bobby to be at the funeral, but just

for P.R. sake and for Bobbi Kristina they couldn’t come out right and say that so

instead did they lay a trap for him ???

Picture this:

They know that Bobby was going to come to the funeral and try to sit as close to his

daughter Bobbi Kristina as he could, so the family tells security when they see him

trying to sit with the family to tell him to move, knowing how Bobby would react to

them telling him to move. This way they can kill to birds with one stone. They can

get Bobby to leave and they can make him look bad in the process. And then people

wanna say its because he had this big entourage with him and that’s what cause the

problem, I didn’t know bringing his kids who are siblings to Bobbi Kristina was con-

sidered an entourage….Everybody throwing all this blame on Bobby Brown instead

of stating the obvious that Whitney Houston was grown and made her own choices

and what ever went on between her and Bobby was between her and Bobby. Now with

Whitney gone, they are going to go full force to turn Bobbi Kristina against him….

That’s a Shame, Poor Bobby…

But at the end of the day people need to stop talking about the negative and realize

what the world lost an Icon, A Legend, A Mother, A Daughter, A Sister, A Superstar

and there is no replacing that….

Whitney Houston will be laid to rest after a private, invitation-only funeral at her

childhood New Jersey church, instead of a public memorial at a Newark arena.  The

18,000-seat Prudential Center had been planned as a setting for a public memorial,

but the family decided overnight to keep services private, a source confirmed to NBC

New York on Tuesday.  “Whitney has shared her entire life with the public. This is

her final farewell. Let her family share that time with her,” said Carolyn Whigham,

owner of the funeral home handling the arrangements.  The private funeral will be

held Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston got her start singing in

the choir, according to Whigham.  The funeral is scheduled for noon and will not be

open to the public or media, Whigham said. The church seats about 1,500.  Thousands

had been expected to attend the Prudential memorial Friday, and it’s likely crowds

will end up in the area around the church on Saturday instead. The Prudential Cen-

ter showed Houston’s face in lights Monday night as a tribute to the singer, who was

found dead in a hotel room in Los Angeles Saturday.  Church officials acknowledged

on Tuesday that they are expecting fans to flood the streets around the church.  “I

don’t see how we can avoid that,” the Rev. Joe Carter said. “Everybody loved Whitney.”

Houston was born in Newark and raised in East Orange. Her family is asking that any

donations in her memory be sent to the arts-focused public school in East Orange she

attended as a child and that is now named after her.  In lieu of flowers, they say

mourners should donate to the Whitney Houston Academy of Creative and Performing

Arts.  Houston attended the school as a girl when it was named the Franklin School.

She was a regular visitor for many years afterward.  Many said she never forgot her

Jersey roots.  Her mother, Grammy award-winning gospel singer Cissy Houston, led

the musical program at New Hope Baptist Church. Whitney’s cousin, singer Dionne

Warwick, also sang in its choir.  Mourners flocked to the 112-year-old church after

the news of her death over the weekend.  “The Houston family means a lot to this

community, they have done a lot for this community, and being there for them is

the best thing we can do as a community today,” said Shawn Cooper, 32, as he left an

early morning service at the church on Sunday.
