This could be Interesting!!!
It could be the new Twin Towers or it could be a National Disaster , we’ll see…
According to multiple reports and sources around the league, the Kings have officially traded away their franchise and superstar player, DeMarcus Cousins, to the New Orleans Pelicans.
He’ll now reunite with fellow Kentucky Wildcats legend, Anthony Davis, as the pair become an immediate summer free agency attraction. The 26-year-old is one year away from becoming an unrestricted free agent during the summer of 2018, as he’ll be looking to sign a super-max contract – upwards of $200 million. While Boogie has previously stated that he wanted to remain with the Kings and ink an extension, Sacramento was reluctant to fully invest in the star big man.
We’re just puzzled why they would announce the trade, just moments after All-Star Weekend – where he’s set to store his luggage for the next few years. This move now ensures the Brow’s transition back to his original position of the 4, as both star big men will be able to spread the court.
In our opinion, the team becomes worse for the 2017 season, after depleting their roster to land DeMarcus. Whether they’re able to attract key back-court free agents, will be their primary focus going forward, as the N.O. front office has made it clear that they’re in win-now mode.
New Orleans now has the best front-court tandem in the entire NBA, but sees their bench depleted with the move. They’ll obviously look to add pieces onto the team that now features Davis, Cousins and Jrue Holiday; who’s been able to maintain health and consistency throughout the year thus far.
