Who knew Louisville was out of control like this ???

Three people were killed Thursday after a chaotic shooting scene that had crowds runn-

ing for cover in a crime-ridden section of Louisville.  Two men — Tyson Mimms, 24 and

Craig Bland Jr., 22 — were killed Thursday afternoon in a shooting that attracted dozens

of onlookers anxious for answers in the city’s Russell neighborhood, which is dotted with

boarded-up houses.  As police investigated and a host of media gathered nearby, shots

rang out about four houses down. Makeba Lee, 24, was killed after she was shot by a woman

who had gotten into an argument with her about the incident, police said.  That woman

was later wounded by police and taken to the hospital, Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve

Conrad. Jefferson County chief deputy coroner Jo-Ann Farmer identified the three slain

people on Thursday night.  Police have not released a motive for the first shooting, which

also wounded at least three other people.  There appears to be no connection between the

slayings, Conrad said.  “We had people at the scene yelling,” said Conrad, who spent his day

in the neighborhood west of downtown working with officers in that precinct before the

shootings. “I don’t know if that played a role or not. This level of violent behavior is un-

acceptable.”  The shootings made the day the bloodiest in Louisville since at least July 5,

2011, when four people were killed, and Oct. 6, 2008, when a mother stabbed her two child-

ren, then killed herself on the same day two other homicides took place.  Tekeya Anderson

said the female victim in the second shooting was her cousin.  “I guess she was in the wrong

place at the wrong time and she got shot,” Anderson said. “She came down here and she got

shot.”

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — A woman is demanding answers after her brother was found

in a wooded area seven days after crashing his car. The man is alive, but not well, after

a week alone and hurt. Michael Sanchez Jr. was on Highway 101 in San Jose when his car

went off the road at Hellyer Avenue. They found the car, but could not find him. Michael

was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center on Tuesday after he was found alive, but

unresponsive. His sister, Pricilla Sanchez, says he was still unresponsive on Wednesday

night, which means that no one knows what happened over those seven days he was miss-

ing.  “Right now Michael’s on life support,” said Pricilla.  Pricilla wants to know what happ-

ened to her brother. She last spoke to him early last Wednesday morning. Unknown to her,

he crashed his truck shortly after that call. He was on Highway 101 south and took the

Hellyer exit.  “Vehicle veered across lanes, took that off ramp and then went over on the

other side and went down in that depressed area that’s very brushy and wooded,” said CHP

Lt. Les Bishop.  A witness told CHP they saw a man walk away from the scene.  “We utilized

fire department’s portable lighting system, so we lit up the area and it was about a 45 min-

ute search in that area,” said Bishop.  But Michael wasn’t found. Thursday, when he didn’t

show up to a family funeral and wasn’t answering his phone, his sister filed a police report.

“It was filed here with police department on the 10th. The following day on the 11th it was

sent up to the investigations unit and on Monday morning, the investigators were assigned

to the case,” said San Jose Police Officer Jose Garcia.  After learning of the crash on Tuesday,

San Jose police went back to the site to look for clues.  “He was located just before 6 p.m. in

an area that was completely out of view of the roadway or specifically from passing motorists,”

said Garcia.  Pricilla doesn’t understand how her brother wasn’t found for almost seven days.

“If they did their search, they should have found my brother’s body,” said Pricilla. “If I report

it, my brother missing on that Thursday, they should have traced that truck. If CHP picked

up his truck on the 8th, why didn’t they report, ‘I found a truck, there’s a person missing.’

You know, why wasn’t I informed?” said Pricilla.  CHP conducted a search and even checked

the shoulder off the freeway. They checked Hellyer Park and neighborhoods. They say they

ran the registration on the truck and it came back to a Visalia address in the Central Valley,

so that was a cold lead. As for San Jose Police, they say they get several missing person reports

every day and they have to triage them. They prioritize them as to who’s most at risk, whether

it’s someone who’s suicidal or at risk. So while the sister said she had a bad feeling, police say

there was just no solid evidence that he was at risk, so it wasn’t put at the top of the priority

list.

A man already accused of stealing underwear from a woman’s home was arrested again,

this time for allegedly using a hidden camera to look up women’s dresses.  Kornwall Chan

was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on charges including invasion of privacy and dis-

orderly conduct after he was found inside the King of Prussia Mall with a hidden camera

in his bag, according to a press release put out by Montgomery County District Attorney

Risa Vetri Ferman Thursday.  Ferman says that a man — later identified as Chan — was alle-

gedly spotted back in September using a camera to look up a woman’s dress at the JC Penny

store at King of Prussia. After that incident, Chan’s photo was distributed by Upper Merion

Police.  Flash forward to Sunday when prosecutors say that a loss prevention officer at the

KOP Lord and Taylor says she saw a man in the KOP Plaza near the JC Penny that looked like

the man in the flier sent out last year.

Per Montgomery County D.A. press release:

Police officers located Chan at the mall and discovered that he was carrying a bag with a hid-

den camera inside of it. Police reviewed the video inside of the camera, which revealed foot-

age of Chan following a woman in the JC Penny store and continuously placing the hidden

camera underneath her skirt, showing the woman’s underwear.  Chan, 37, was already out

on $100,000 bail after being arrested in January on burglary, criminal trespass, stalking,

theft and related charges, according to court records.

Ferman’s release explains the earlier arrest:

In the January 2012 case, Chan met the female victim at the Oreland train station and, over

the ensuing weeks, engaged in a course of conduct that made the female so uncomfortable

that she began to actively seek ways to avoid running into him during her morning com-

mute.  In addition, Chan burglarized the victim’s home, stealing only her bras and panties.

During his time in the victim’s home, Chan turned all of the family photographs face-down

with the exception of a photograph of the victim. Her photograph was left upright and

moved onto the dining room table.  Bail for the most recent charges was set at $500,000.

Since some of the newest allegations against the Dresher, Pa. man came while he was out

on bail for the previous theft, prosecutors asked for his bail to be revoked.  That bail hear-

ing is scheduled for Wednesday, according to court records.

WEST PHILADELPHIA – May 17, 2012 – Three men are hospitalized after a shooting in

West Philadelphia.  The shooting happened on the 5400 block of Sharswood Street at

around 8:40 p.m.  Upon arrival, officers discovered one male with a gunshot wound

to the face, another with multiple wounds to the arm and leg, and a third with multiple

wounds to the arm and foot.  All have been rushed to the Hospital of the University of

Pennsylvania for care.  The suspected shooter fled and remains at large.

Believe me I wish things had worked out because I thought Stacey and I were great together.

She was my age and we were working it. It was sex-symbol to sex-symbol. But she didn’t want

to be there. I was disappointed about that. She had some issues. I’m not sure exactly what

those issues were. In the end, she and VH1 made a decision.

On the catfights that really went down on set

Yes, there was a disagreement over a scene. And it really wasn’t with me. It was with the dir-

ector. I think it was about 2 or 3AM and we’d been shooting all damn day. Stacey tried to argue

with the director about a line. And I’m like: “Girl, if you don’t say what the director wants you

to say.” It wasn’t that serious at first, but it went there.  It’s a bunch of women on the set. We

might all be on our damn period at any given point. I just wanted us to move forward. Then

the argument took on a life of its own. The show decided to use it for publicity. They just ran

with it.

On which Hollywood friend she had to dump

Duane Martin. I introduced him to my ex-husband [former Turks & Caicos Premier Michael

Misick], he got buddy-buddy with him and then turned against me. Just recently, this fool

Duane up and sold a building he and I bought awhile ago in Los Angeles, without asking…I

don’t care if we’re not friends, just don’t try to f**k me in the interim.

When I heard about him in the middle of Will & Jada’s divorce rumors, I tweeted: sounds fam-

iliar. He really aint got enough business.

sent over.

Folks around the net doubted the realness of these hospital beds when Curtis first tweeted

“I’m in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time…Do

Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren is now single again after breaking up with boy-

friend Jamie Dingman, who have been seeing each other since last summer. There’s

much speculation that she may have realized she entered a relationship too soon after

her old one ended.  Nordegren had a very public divorce from Woods after news broke

that he was carrying on affairs with several mistresses in 2009; he later admitted to a

sex addiction, which earned him public ridicule. He has, however, gone on to maintain

his golfing career, although many think he’s lost the spark he once had.  Nordegren is

currently living in North Palm Beach, Florida and is having a new home built for herself

and her two children, presumably with the $12 million she received from Woods in their

divorce settlement. High-profile divorcee or not, she will likely be a hot commodity in

the dating scene once word gets around that she’s on the market again.

Tia’s P.C. Story:

After dishing about her new book Oh, Baby!, her 11-month-old son Cree and his first

words and cuteness, Tia reaffirmed her reasoning for leaving her show “The Game.” 

She maintains it was a mutual decision between her and the network, and she wants

to focus on her other current projects.  It was definitely a mutual decision.  It was time

for me to move on to other things like writing this book, and I just finished doing a

movie on ABC Family, and then I’m working on the show with my sister, “Tia & Tamera”,

which premieres June 11th.”  Still sounds shady.  Especially given how sudden it was, and

not to mention Doug Banks radio personality DeDe McGuire’s tweet the other day that

said Tia told her she was fired:  Wow!!! For all those that watch “The Game” on BET Tia

Mowry just told me she was informed an hour ago that she was FIRED from the show!

Hmmm….  By the way, based on this past Tuesday’s episode, it looks like “Melanie Davis”

wasn’t returning anyway…

Dwayne Wade got into an argument with Heat Head Coach Eric Spolesta, but I wouldn’t

read to much into it.  I think Wade was just frustrated cause he was having a bad game

and they were getting blown out of the game….

INDIANAPOLIS — Roy Hibbert had 19 points and 18 rebounds, George Hill scored 20 and

Danny Granger 17 as the Indiana Pacers, showing more balance, toughness and together-

ness than Miami, throttled the Heat 94-75 on Thursday night in Game 3 of the Eastern

Conference semifinals.  Overlooked during the regular season and given little chance to

upset the reigning East champions, the Pacers took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Game 4 is Sunday at raucous Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  LeBron James scored 22 — 16 in the

first half before wearing down — and Mario Chalmers added 25 for Miami. However, Dwyane

Wade scored only 5 on 2-of-13 shooting for the Heat, already missing forward Chris Bosh

because of a strained abdominal muscle and not expected to return for this series.

HORSHAM, Pa. – May 17, 2012 – A former police officer from Montgomery County has been

charged for stealing guns, drugs and cash, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office an-

nounced on Thursday.  John Becker, 42, of Horsham, is charged for a number of alleged in-

cidents dating back to 2003. He is a former detective sergeant with the Hatboro Police De-

partment.  According to a statement from Attorney General Linda Kelly, Becker convinced

or coerced several people to make drug purchases on his behalf, including Oxycontin, Per-

cocet and cocaine between December 2009 and January 2011.  Kelly said the purchases were

allegedly under the guise of assisting undercover drug investigations. However, Kelly said,

Becker is accused of keeping the drugs for his own personal use.  Becker is also accused of

stealing from the evidence room of the Hatboro Police Department, where he served as the

evidence custodian. Between 2003 and 2011, Becker allegedly stole ten firearms, including

a rare German 9mm Luger pistol, along with numerous other handguns and a 12 gauge shot-

gun.  Kelly said that Becker is also accused of taking more than $18,000 in cash from the evi-

dence room, along with an Omega watch valued at $2,700 and narcotics worth more than

$2,000.  A search warrant was executed at Becker’s home in June, 2011, in which several

items from the Hatboro Police Department were recovered, Kelly said. Becker allegedly de-

signated those items as “destroyed” while serving as evidence custodian for the police de-

partment.  Kelly said the investigation also resulted in the recovery of five firearms that

were allegedly sold by Becker to a store in Horsham and later resold to unsuspecting buyers

in Pennsylvania and Texas. Four more weapons were later located in the trunk of Becker’s

car, Kelly said.  Becker is charged with ten counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition,

all second-degree felonies which are each punishable by up to ten years in prison and

$25,000 fines.  Additionally, Becker is charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking,

all third-degree felonies punishable by up to seven years in prison and $15,000 fines.  Becker

is also charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, eight counts of unlaw-

ful restraint and 12 counts of criminal coercion, all first-degree misdemeanors each punish-

able by up to five years in prison and $10,000 fines, along with four counts of official oppres-

sion, a second-degree misdemeanors punishable by up to two years in prison and $5,000

fines.  Becker surrendered on Thursday to agents from the Attorney General’s Bureau of Cri-

minal Investigation and was arraigned.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA – May 17, 2012 – An elderly man is in critical condition

after being shot during an interrupted burglary in Southwest Philadelphia, police say.

Authorities say at approximately 2:30 p.m., the 79-year-old man was watching tele-

vision.  At that same time, police say a burglar was breaking into the basement of his

home on the 6600 block of Yocum Street.  Authorities say the burglar broke in the

house through a side sliding glass window.  Police say the homeowner then heard a

noise coming from the basement and decided to investigate.  “He gets up to go see what’s

going on. He unlocks the door. As he unlocks the door, a shot is fired from the opposite

side of the door through the door, hits him in the stomach, another shot hits him in the

leg,” Lt. John Walker of the Philadelphia Police Department said.  Police say the gunman

then ran from the home out the front door.  The 79-year-old was transported to the Hos-

pital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.  The victim’s wife was not

home at the time.  Police are hoping someone saw the burglar and will call authorities.

Ryan Hart, a 14-year-old boy from Michigan, had a rude surprise when he bit into his

Arby’s roast beef sandwich. “I was like, ‘that’s got to be a finger,’” he told the Jackson

Citizen Patriot. “It was just nasty.”  Reportedly, a restaurant employee cut off her fin-

ger with a meat slicer while preparing the meal. She left her station to deal with the

emergency, and other employees, who were unaware of the injury, continued to com-

plete the order.  “Somebody loses a finger and you keep sending food out the window,”

said the teen’s mom, Jamie Vail. “I can’t believe that.” She added that following the

gruesome discovery, her son was “traumatized,” couldn’t eat or sleep, and had been

prescribed medication Fox News reports.  John Gray, Arby’s vice president of corporate

communications, provided Yahoo! Shine with a statement saying, “Arby’s wants to re-

assure customers that we are committed to providing quality food in a safe and healthy

environment. We are deeply concerned and apologetic to the guest involved in this un-

fortunate incident….An isolated and unfortunate accident occurred in a franchisee’s

Jackson, Michigan restaurant in which an employee was injured. Upon learning of the

incident, the franchisee’s restaurant team shut down food production and thoroughly

cleaned and sanitized the restaurant. The franchisee fully cooperated with the Health

Department during the investigation, and the restaurant was given the approval to re-

main open.”This is not the first time human remains have been found in a fast food

meal but this case might be the most extreme.  A Dayton Ohio man sued Arby’s in 2005

for reportedly serving him a chicken sandwich topped with a piece of human skin.  In a

famous 2005 hoax, a Las Vegas woman found a human finger in Wendy’s chili but police

later discovered she had cooked her husband’s colleague’s finger (which he had lost in a

work accident) and slipped it into the bowl herself. An Albany-area man allegedly found

a bloody bandage in the crust of his Pizza Hut pie in 2011.  Also in 2011, Texan woman

found blood on her French fries while eating at a Houston-area Crackle Barrel.
