RITTENHOUSE SQUARE – August 2, 2012 – Police say 15 high-end handbags were stolen
during a robbery on Thursday morning in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square.
Officers were called to the Burberry Store at 1705 Walnut Street around 11:20 a.m.
When police arrived employees told them two women came in and distracted them.
Then, four men ran into the store and stole the handbags, believed to be worth more
than $16,000. All six suspects then ran out of the store and jumped into a silver Ford
Contour and fled the scene.
