SAGINAW, MI – Saginaw police detectives told TV5 that a senior at the Saginaw Arts &
Sciences Academy has been charged with putting a “bodily fluid” into a bottle of mouth-
wash and handing it out to fellow classmates as a senior prank. Seventeen-year-old Jor-
dan T. Drake was charged with one felony count of misbranding or adulterating a food
product. If convicted, Drake could be sentenced to up to four years in prison. The inci-
dent happened on May 15, and administrators were made aware by a student. That’s
when police were notified. Drake was arraigned Thursday morning, and The Saginaw
News reported the judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Drake has been released
on $5,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 5. No further details
on the case have been released by police. “I am surprised, really, for someone to think
of something like that,” said parent Sandra Riebschleger. “I’m just amazed as some of
the things these teenagers think of to pull as a prank.” Saginaw Public Schools spokes-
person Safiya Mosley said Drake will still graduate, but would not be allowed to partici-
pate at the school’s graduation commencement on May 30.
