Part 2
-
Bobby maintained that he didn’t even do drugs before meeting Whitney (aside from
weed and alcohol) and when he was introduced to it in their relationship, his addic-
tive personality allowed for things to get out of control. Matt asked Bobby what he
could have done differently when he saw Whitney spiraling out of control, and
Bobby responded:
“I coulda done something different, you know to — ensure that she had a longer life.
But … you have to want it, you know?”
He said they were so in love and so deep into their addiction that the first season fo
“Being Bobby Brown” was a wake up call. Their drug use was affecting their relation-
ship and their daughter. And they saw just how they looked int he public eye. Whit-
ney refused to do another season, and the couple also filed for divorce the following
year in 2006.
Bobby says he had so much love for her and never would want to hurt her:
“My fiancee knows how I felt about that woman,” Brown said. “My kids know how I
feel … how I felt about Whitney. It’s not a secret, you know? I was in love with her
deeply.”
